Philosophy: Too many chess coaches teach what they are interested in and
not what the student needs. I will carefully evaluate your games and
determine, and follow-up on, the skills we agree that you need to address.
Then you will leave each lesson with all the information we covered,
including diagrams and move sequences. You will also know what your
homework is, at a pace we agree to, and know why it has been assigned.
If you have young people, know that I have taught many over the years.
Two of my students are ages 6 and 8. However, this takes many hours
of preparation, thus $40/hr. [Most students want a one or two hour lesson per week,
but the length of the lesson should be comfortable for everyone involved and you can decide on your needs.]
You will not find a Master level or better player that charges less than $60/hr..
[The best rates I have seen in our area is $60/hr..
